3/25/22

Our second grade scientists are learning about soil. We started our study with a KWL chart. K is what you know, W is what you want to know and L is what you learned (this part will get longer as we dive further into the unit and learn more). Here are some of the ideas that were discussed in class. What we know – It is organic. Soil is not dirt. Soil helps life grow. Soil is home to worms. Snails like wet soil. 3rd Grade: 3/25

What a week it has been for 3rd grade! If nothing else, we are resilient! These past two weeks have been filled with highs and lows. We celebrated Purim together with games and crafts and mitzvot. It was exciting to see everyone in costume! We also had fun playing freeze tag with our buddies and exchanging mishloach manot with them. It was also nice seeing you all at conferences and sharing your child’s progress. It’s amazing how far they have come since the beginning of the year! We are continuing book clubs, practicing talking about our books and deepening our...

Going back to masks this week has been a bit of an adjustment, but everyone is doing really well to keep each other safe.   In Science, we continued with our scientific categorizations. We spoke about how sometimes it’s hard to figure out the best way to group different kinds of things! We looked at...

First Grade News

Dear Families, In Hebrew, the first graders choose their favorite animal and describe them in writing – their color, where they live, what they eat and what they love to do. We also learned how to write the letters tav, kaf and chaf in script. This week in Tefilah, the first graders were so excited to learn the last prayer from the Amida – hamevarech et amo yisrael bashalom. We discussed the meaning of peace and peaceful places. In Math we are practicing our doubles facts! Students learned about how math facts can be a helpful tool when adding and subtracting bigger numbers. We...
