Painted Pot and more fun!

Dear Kindergarten Families, We had a fun week in Kindergarten! The children had a great time painting our kiddush cups at Painted Pot yesterday! Yom Haatzmaut, Earth Day and more!

Dear Kindergarten Families, We had lots of fun this week in Kindergarten! The children were very excited to celebrate Yom Haatzmaut, Israel’s Independence Day! During the week, we learned many things about Israel: its cities, seas, history and more. We read a book “Our Jewish Dream” written by Helena Solomon and illustrated by Regina Katz. Back to school: fun and sun!

Dear Kindergarten Families, We had lots of fun this week in Kindergarten! The children were very excited to be back and had lots of stories to share with their classmates and teachers. They eagerly jumped into writing, reading, Hebrew, math and science. In Math, we continued to learn about parts of a whole. We practiced using unifix cubes and 10 frames to find parts of numbers between 5 and 10. Celebrating Passover in Kindergarten!

Dear Kindergarten Families, We had a very busy and fun week! We learned all about making Matzah and had our own Model Seder! In Math, we are learning how to count forward and backward to and from 10 in preparation for addition and subtraction. We have been practicing figuring out parts of 10 (1 and 9, 2 and 8, 3 and 7, etc.). The children were counting how many objects they had and how many they would need to get to 10. Dear Kindergarten Families, We had lots of fun this week in Kindergarten! We continued talking about using kind words and being careful not to hurt others with our words. We read the story “Have You Filled a Bucket Today?” by Carol McCloud. We talked about using kind words and doing nice things to fill each other’s buckets. In Math, we continued learning about Time. Dear Kindergarten Families, We had lots of fun this week in Kindergarten! It was great to speak with all of you during conferences! Maps, Birds, Letter W and much more!

Dear Kindergarten Families, We had lots of fun this week in Kindergarten! In English Language Arts, we learned the letter Ww and the sound /w/ it makes (as in ‘win’). We practiced forming upper and lowercase Ww letters using our Handwriting Without Tears books, wooden planks, and finding words that start with W and drawing pictures of them. In our Words Their Way Spelling program, we practiced reading and sorting words with the short vowel /o/ and with the /sh/ sound. Happy Purim!

Dear Kindergarten Families, What an exciting and busy week we had in Kindergarten! We started on Monday by celebrating the 100th Day of School. Dear Kindergarten Families, We had a very exciting week in Kindergarten! We welcomed in Adar with Pajama Day, a Talent show, and a parade! Dear Kindergarten Families, We had a wonderful week in Kindergarten! It was fun welcoming you into our classrooms for Delet P’tucha and sharing our learning with you. In Math, we have been learning about counting and comparing numbers and sets of objects up to 100. We practiced deciding whether an item could be counted or not (grains of sand vs marbles) and counting them to compare whether there are less or more.
