Tu B’shvat, Curiosity on Court, Science and much more!

Dear Kindergarten Families, We had a wonderful week in Kindergarten! On Wednesday, we enjoyed the Tu B’Shvat Fair with our buddies learning about trees, the environment and tasting the fruit of trees. On Thursday, we had lots of fun climbing, running around, exploring and playing at Curiosity on Court! Musical “Beauty and the Beast,” Writing Fairy Tales and more!

Dear Kindergarten Families, We had a wonderful week in Kindergarten! As part of our “Fairy Tales” unit, we learned more about “Beauty and the Beast” and even had a chance to see part of the 8th grade Musical on Wednesday morning! In Math, we learned about counting by 5s and 10s. We also continued practicing using “tallies” and counting by 5. The children used craft sticks to create various amounts using tally marks. Dear Kindergarten Families, We hope you enjoyed your long weekend! We had a great week in Kindergarten! The highlight of our week was Ari Safari with his amazing animals. The children really enjoyed the show “Animal Defenses” and got to learn about and touch some rare animals, such as a toad, snake, chameleon, legless lizard and a chinchilla. Learning about Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., snow exploration, shapes, fairy tales and much more!

Dear Kindergarten Families, We had a great week back in Kindergarten! In Math, we continued learning about various geometric shapes: flat and 3D (or solid). The children reviewed the shapes that we learned last week: squares, triangles, rectangles, circles, ovals, hexagons, cone, pyramid, cube, cylinder, sphere, and rectangular prism. Please help your children continue to practice these shapes at home by playing “I Spy a …. Dear Kindergarten Families,   We hope you had a wonderful and relaxing break! We wish you a happy and healthy New Year 2018! The children were excited to be back and had a wonderful short week in kindergarten!   In Math, we started a new, 3rd, workbook. Hanukkah Hebrew Play and more fun!

Dear Families, We had a fun week in Kindergarten! We began with the beautiful Hebrew Hanukkah Show. The children felt very proud and excited to speak, sing and dance during the play. We ended the week with a lovely holiday party – with Hanukkah cookies baked in Hebrew class and games and songs. In English Language Arts, we were practicing letter N and the sound it makes. Celebrating Hanukkah with our friends!

Dear Kindergarten Families, Happy Hanukah!! We had a fun and busy week in Kindergarten. Every day, we enjoyed lighting candles with our Fourth grade buddies! We have been practicing our song and dance for the Hanukkah Play! We even got to play in the snow! In Math, we are learning numbers 0-20. We have been using ten frames to help us count. Jewish Museum, Publishing Party and more!

Dear Kindergarten Families, We had a great week in Kindergarten.  We were preparing for our Publishing Party and practicing our song and dance for the Hanukkah Play! On Thursday, we had a great time at the Jewish Children’s Museum in Brooklyn. The children went to a Kosher Supermarket, visited Creation Exhibit, looked for oil in the Hanukkah exhibit, walked “on Shabbat Table,” made oil out of real olives and lit the menorah with it. Learning about Fall

Dear Kindergarten Families, We hope you had a fun and restful Thanksgiving break! We had lots of fun this week in Kindergarten. The children were excited to tell us stories about their Thanksgiving weekend and then wrote and illustrated them in their journals. Dear Kindergarten Families, We have had a great short week in Kindergarten! We began on Monday by celebrating Irit’s birthday and then visiting our 4th grade buddies at their Publishing Party! In Math we have been continuing to learn about and practice the ideas of more than and fewer than for small numbers (0-10).
