K Blog 2/11

Dear Kindergarten Families,   It was another exciting week in Kindergarten!  We learned new verses of our family song as well as a song in science.  We made fruit salad for the community fridge (11 quarts!) and delivered it to the fridge.  Thanks to everyone who contributed the lovely and delicious fruit.   In reading we continue to talk about the superpowers we have as readers.  This week we added picture power, noticing that if you look at the first letter of an unknown word  and study the picture, it can help you figure out the word. Many of our second grade friends were born in the year of the horse which is symbolized by their popularity, energy and confidence. Others are the snake who are considered wise, reserved, and deep thinkers. We learned all about the traditions and customs of celebrating the New year including food, family and legends such as the Nian monster. Did you know that long noodles are eaten...
