Introductions for General Studies:

Lauren – I am very excited to join the community at Senesh! I have taught for several years at various schools between New York City and Los Angeles teaching Pre-K, Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd and 4th grades. I have a Masters degree from NYU in Early Childhood and Elementary Education and training from Columbia University including literacy and coaching teachers. I have a husband, a 14 year old daughter, Daniella, and two adorable dogs who keep me busy at home! I enjoy spending time walking, hiking, exploring new restaurants and museums, reading and watching Netflix with my family! I am grateful to have landed at Senesh and to spend this year with your children and am looking forward to meeting all of you.

Marisa – I am overjoyed to be looping with the same grade I worked with last year. This will be my third year at Hannah Senesh. Previously, I worked in New Orleans as a second and fourth grade social studies and science teacher with The New Teacher Project. I attended Susquehanna University where I studied education and minored in American History and Women Studies. Currently, I am applying for my Education Policy degree at American University as well as Teachers College (I should be hearing back any day now!)

My special secret is that I am a HSCDS alumni. I look to infuse my positive experiences as a student in Senesh into the classroom. As the students may know I love to stay active and adore telling crazy cat stories. Quiz your student— Ask them if they remember, or can guess, my favorite food (pizza with chocolate chips on top)! I am thrilled to watch everyone flourish as a more mature second grader.

Introductions for Hebrew Judaics:

Dorit – I am very excited to join the Hanna Senesh community and to teach your children. Currently I’m doing my MA in Judiac Studies in Jerusalem university. I’m a Sabra and a graduate of Tel-Aviv University teaching and I believe Hebrew is part of who we are and a bridge to Israely culture. I am a mother of 15 year old twins, Jayden and Jonathan, and I thank God for the amazing gift of motherhood. I am delighted to have the opportunity to teach your children and expose them to the Hebrew language. My goal is to excite and evoke their love of the Jewish heritage, Holidays, Hebrew language and Israeli culture. I strongly believe in the saying: ״חנוך לנער על פי דרכו״ (educate a child according to his ways

Tomer– Tomer starts his fifth year at Hannah Senesh. His background in education is very versatile and unique. He works as an explainer in the American Museum of Natural History with all different age groups. He worked for New York Junior Tennis and Learning. Tomer has a Master degree in Education- Teaching Hebrew as a Second Language from Middlebury College where he is also Teacher Assistant.
