5th Grade Week of 4/16

What a week! We celebrated Yom Haatzmaut on Thursday. We and our 4th grade friends turned our classrooms into Israeli cities, ancient and modern. The 5th Grade also did an exceptional job performing a play for our whole school tekes on the last 70 years of Israel’s history. Thank you, Nir, for all the hard work you put in to making Thursday amazing! Please enjoy our classroom updates, and have a good weekend!

HUMANITIES: Another successful week in Humanities! We are wrapping up our whole class text, and are looking forward to future writing assignments by introducing the art of expository writing. Students are working really hard on their China Museum projects, and are yet again showing why they are an exceptionally determined group. Shabbat Shalom!-Tony

JUDAICS: This week in Judaics, we spent time learning about Yom Hashoah, Yom Hazikaron, and Yom Haatzmaut in order to prepare for ceremonies and celebrations in school. We also did ERB prep for Math and ELA.-Thank you, Shir!

SCIENCEStudents this week had rotation stations in order to further develop their engineering and collaborative group work skills with randomly generated groups. Within these stations that made a marble run with random parts. Then in another station they created their own marble run parts in order to customize the experience. Finally in the last station they worked with pool noodles in order to create a large track a marble can successful reach the end. This was inspired from their rollercoaster designs from last week. We continue to enjoy every minute of science which is fostering a friendly, safe and kind science classroom.-Mike
HEBREW:
The past couple of weeks the 5th grade worked hard getting ready for their Yom Ha’atzmauet play that was presented to the entire school yesterday. They did a great job and I was really proud of them.-Yehuda
