Mid-November Week

Hello Fourth Grade Families!
It was great seeing parents who came to conferences on Monday, and we’re looking forward to seeing you again very soon at the Living Museum next week! The kids have been working hard on their various projects in many subjects and they can’t wait to share them with you! Remember that coffee with Karen is taking place beforehand at 8:00-8:45 am this Monday!

PEEK AT NEXT WEEK:
  • Monday, November 20 – Living Museum, 8:45-9:30 am (Coffee with Karen at 8:00 am)
  • Thursday, November 23-Friday, November 24 – Thanksgiving, SCHOOL CLOSED

HEBREW with Ilana:

This week the 4th grade worked on a writing project about an object that is meaningful to their family. They described the object and wrote the story of it. They also wrote a vocabulary that they learned from this project and practiced presenting it. In addition, we started to talk and get ready for the Chanuka play. The students are excited to start working on the play.

JUDAIC STUDIES with Aliza:
This week, students worked on their newest Chumash projects, turning the story of the deception of Yitzchak into classic movie posters! They were required to recognize characters, know the story, and bring a quote from the text that will tease their “movie” as either a comedy, drama, mystery, musical, or horror classic film! In addition, the fourth grade had their latest Shoresh game and quiz. Competition was fierce and the sportsmanship admirable all around!

GENERAL STUDIES with Miriam:
We cannot wait to show you all our hard work on Monday at our Living Museum. The general studies classroom has been as busy as a beehive this week as we put our finishing touches on our writing and social studies projects. They will be on display in all their glory on Monday. In math, we had our first check-in. This looks a lot like a math test, but doesn’t need to be as scary. This was a chance to not only show off their math skills, but to practice some of the test-taking skills we have been learning all year. See you all at the Living Museum!
