Kindergarten Welcome Blog

Dear Kindergarten Families,

Welcome to Kindergarten! We have been busy getting the classrooms organized and can’t wait to meet the students and begin our year together.

Orientation Visit: When you arrive for your orientation visit on Tuesday, please meet Annette in the lobby. We are looking forward to it!

Emailing the Team

It is very important to use this email address and send messages to all four teachers rather than just one of us. Thank you!

  • First day of Kindergarten is Wednesday, September 7. This will be a short day. Group A will begin at 9:00 and end at 11:30 and Group B will begin at 12:30 and end at 3:00. Both groups should bring a snack and a water bottle.   Drop off and pick will be in the side yard. Parents are invited to stay in the yard after drop off to meet with faculty and other parents.
  • We go outside in all weather! Please dress your child for the day’s weather.
  • Please pack a water bottle, lunch and a snack that your child can open by themselves. Try practicing at home, and please label everything!
  • Kindergartners should also have a change of clothing at school.
  • We have found that a medium sized backpack works better for Kindergartners than a very small one.  It should be large enough to hold a lunch, water bottle, snack and any items that we might send home.
  • Physical Education with Anne is on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.  Children should be sure to wear sneakers on those days.
  • Please be sure that your child does not bring any toys to school.  They may bring a very small stuffed animal if you feel it might be a comfort to them at the beginning of the year.
  • You can keep up with Kindergarten news by reading the blog!
