HUMANITIES
The students did a great job arguing their cases in the trial of Romeo and Juliet. Thank you to those of you who joined to bear witness to the trial; I hope you enjoyed seeing the product of the 7th graders’ hard work and preparation.
We are finishing the year by studying the Bill of Rights and answering some final questions about Romeo and Juliet, such as:
-Is Romeo and Juliet’s relationship an example of true love?
Does Romeo and Juliet belong in 7th grade? Should Sammy teach it again?
In Shakespeare’s time, should parents have taken their children to see this play?
Would you hire the Nurse?
It has such a pleasure getting to teach your children this year. I hope everyone has a great summer!

Dear parents,
This has definitely been a  unique year and it brought new challenges but also unexpected rewards. Yet, as we are reaching the end, I can only feel proud of your children resilience and achievements. Despite learning in new ways, and facing social distancing,  the students still managed to keep the Hebrew language alive.  Whether it was by learning new songs online and recording themselves sing, writing skits and acting them in breakout rooms, making filmed autobiographies or putting on puppets plays, the children managed to speak Hebrew all year long.
And now, they are ready for a well deserved break.
Here is a link to the 7th graders’ autobiographic videos: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1YlzIMrQ_pt6i6jeWPkeoUWrfSsJXGmYW?usp=sharing.
I wish you a safe and relaxing summer, and look forward to seeing everyone in September.

MATH

The school year is almost over and the 7th graders can look forward to a fun summer before returning to Senesh for their final year! How exciting! They had some fun this week ziplining and climbing their way through Boundless Adventures. As for math, they’ve already been getting a glimpse of what’s to come next year by working on some 8th grade level math, as well as reviewing all 7th grade math concepts. Hopefully they won’t forget it this summer! Either way, we’ll jump right back into it come September. Enjoy your summer, 7th grade!

Science

In the final weeks of science, we conducted a project that merged all the engineering skills learned to date. The students had to use a solar panel and motor to build their own solar car. Everyone applied their engineering skills and knowledge in order to create a functional car. We also discovered the limitations of solar power! This has been an amazing year and I am very proud of all the growth students to have demonstrated this year. We cannot wait to continue this journey together next year.
