Middle School Math Teacher

The Senesh School, a progressive, independent K-8 Jewish school in Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn, is hiring a Middle School Math teacher to join our 2025-26 faculty. Successful candidates will be creative, nurturing, and reflective educators who possess a growth mindset. The salary for this position is $75,000-85,000, commensurate with experience. Responsibilities include:

  • Teaching math classes to groups of approximately 15 students; including Algebra 1
  • Differentiating instruction and materials to meet the diverse needs of learners (both support and enrichment)
  • Using data and assessment to inform teaching and learning
  • Developing a warm, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment
  • Working collaboratively with faculty members at department, grade-level, and divisional faculty meetings
  • Acting as a middle school advisor
  • Building partnerships with parents to support student progress

Qualifications include:

  • MA Degree in education or a related field
  • Three or more years experience teaching math to middle school students
  • Demonstrated expertise in curriculum development and instructional design
  • An ability to incorporate technology as a tool to promote learning.
  • Collegial and collaborative approach to being part of a team of educators
  • A “whole child” approach to teaching and learning that focuses on growth in academic, social, and emotional domains
  • A progressive approach to education, including differentiating instruction
  • Cultural competency and a commitment to diversity and belonging
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
