Middle School Science and Math Teacher (Fall 2026)
The Senesh School, a progressive, independent K-8 Jewish day school in Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn, is hiring a middle school science and math teacher to join our 2026-27 faculty.
Successful candidates will be dynamic, innovative, nurturing, and reflective educators that possess a growth mindset. Responsibilities include teaching 5th grade science, middle school STEM electives, and providing math support and enrichment. The annual salary range is $75-$85,000 commensurate with experience. Responsibilities include:
- Creating a warm, creative, and supportive classroom environment
- Teaching the 5th grade science curriculum
- Designing and leading STEM electives and enrichment
- Providing math support and enrichment
- Collaborating with faculty at the department, grade-level, and divisional levels
- Partnering with the student support team to meet the diverse needs of learners
- Maintaining accurate documentation of curriculum and student progress
- Building effective partnerships with parents
- Serving as a middle school advisor
- Attending a weekly faculty meeting, department meeting, and other professional development opportunities
Qualifications and Dispositions:
- MA degree in education or a related field
- Three or more years of middle school lead teaching experience
- Expertise in curriculum development and instructional design
- Knowledge of current trends and best practices in STEM education
- Collaborative, collegial, and team-oriented
- Commitment to a “whole child” approach supporting academic, social, and emotional growth
- Experience differentiating instruction to meet diverse learner needs
- Demonstrated cultural competency and commitment to diversity, equity, and belonging
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
