The Last Week of Kindergarten!
Dear Kindergarten Families,
This week, we mostly had FUN, FUN, FUN in Kindergarten! We followed our children’s planning and had pinkalicious/ninja day, backwards day, pajama day with an ice cream party, and sprinklers day! We had a wonderful year watching your children learn and grow and we hope you all have a fantastic summer!
In Math, we completed our unit on coins. We sorted different kinds of coins and learned about their names and how much they are worth (penny, nickel, dime, quarter). We enjoyed exploring the coins you brought in from other countries! (and sent them home in your child’s backpack).
In English Language Arts, we finished our Author Study of Robert Munsch. The children loved reading these books and enjoyed watching the “Paper Bag Princess” movie during our pajama party. We also made thank you cards for people who work in the school and help make our school experience safe, healthy and joyful. Additionally, we talked about what we love doing with our dads and made ties for Father’s Day.
Hebrew and Judaics
We are so excited it is the end of the year already. We had so much fun this week. We sang the Alef Bet song and we played letter games in which the children had to say words that begin with any Hebrew letter that was picked randomly. For example, for the letter Tav, children offered the words Torah, Tfilah-prayer, toot- strawberry, teshah – nine, Tik- bag, tiras- corn, tmunah- picture, Tel Aviv. Many children pointed to the corresponding letter while singing the Alef bet and could solve many word games that required recognizing letters. We practiced Yoga forming different Hebrew letters shapes. We sang all the songs we learned during the year and read books such as “ Anachnu metaylim” by Ami Rubinger and “Tiras Cham.” We also finished our project of the creation of the world that will be sent home on Friday. It was a great year with your wonderful children who worked beautifully in Hebrew and Judaics.
We had a wonderful year with your children! We are excited for them to begin first grade!
Have a great summer!!!!
Irit, Rachel, Regina, and Ilana
