HUMANITIES
7th grade has been very active as we head into ERB week. We have been practicing reading comprehension, analogy, and vocabulary test-taking while continuing our other course work. Students are finishing reading The Diary of Anne Frank and their study of the Holocaust along with it; their final assessment is to create an illustrated timeline of several events from 1918-1939 including a written portion about who could have made different choices surrounding the event and what lessons we can learn.
The past two weeks we have also been studying the play School Girls; Or, the African Mean Girls Play with the organization Exploring Black Narratives. Set in a boarding school in 1986 Ghana, there are a lot of themes we’ve dived into. Ask your student which character or circumstance in the play they related to!

MATH

The 7th grade spent the past few weeks hard at work prepping for the ERBs next week! We reviewed everything we learned this year, then shifted our focus to ERB-specific work. Last week, the students took practice tests on Quantitative Reasoning, Mathematics Part One, and Mathematics Part Two to get them familiar with the material they can expect to see on the actual tests. This week, we’ve been reviewing all of the answers in depth and discussing effective test-taking strategies. Good luck, 7th grade!

Judaic Studies
To celebrate completing Chapter 11 of the book of Bmidbar/Numbers, the 7th graders are working on a class project: a mini golf course where each hole represents a section of the story and its themes. The creativity and ingenuity has been quite impressive!
Shabbat shalom!
