HUMANITIES
The 7th grade has been deeply engaged in our unit, Holocaust and Human Behavior. We are studying the Holocaust chronologically and analytically while reading and discussing The Diary of Anne Frank. This week, students analyzed Nazi propaganda, the Nuremberg Laws, and decisions average Germans faced under the new Nazi regime. The students have shown an impressive level of engagement, interest, and insight during this difficult unit.

SCIENCE

During the past month, seventh grade has been exploring the science of weather. We have been using simulation software to measure, record, and compare weather in different cities on Earth. We also had a few lessons about extreme weather for example like hurricanes and tornadoes. We are now relating weather to climate and how changes in our environment is affecting climate. We continue to explore our environmental science in unique and engaging ways.

MATH

The 7th grade has been busy learning about their last 7th Grade Math unit; Probability and Statistics! However, they took a brief detour to honor one of the most famous and beloved irrational numbers, Pi! Math enthusiasts around the world celebrate Pi Day on March 14th, as the first three digits of Pi are 3.14. Sadly, Pi Day falls on a Sunday this year but that didn’t stop the 7th grade from celebrating it.

Because Pi is an irrational number, it means its digits go on and on with no repeated pattern. Due to that, everyone’s birthday can be found somewhere among the digits of Pi! The 7th grade went to the website mypiday.com to find their personal pi day, then made artwork to celebrate it.
Here are their works of art:
