Hello Kindergarten Families

Greetings Families!

We hope you enjoyed your Thanksgiving break!

Kindergarten read Thanksgiving stories and made their own square of a quilt to show what they are thankful for! They worked hard on their sounds, shapes, and handwriting to design the quilt square.

We have introduced snap words recently, which helps students become more fluent in their reading and writing. A snap word (also called sight words or high frequency word) are words that we see often and do not sound the way they are spelled. They are called snap words because we read them in a snap (memorization) without sounding them out. Students have been introduced to the, my, me, I, like, and, a. We will continue to explore and practice snap words in our reading and writing throughout the rest of the year.

Please keep a lookout for a Raz Kids email this week, where your child will receive their own login to a reading app of just right books!

Have a wonderful week!

Liz and Talia
