Friday, 4/20 and Saturday, 4/21: Blog Posts!

Day 10 – Friday, April 20th.

Today we woke up early in Tel Aviv. We took a short drive to the shuk (Carmel Market). There we went shopping and had an early lunch. The shuk was filled with Israeli street food, jewelry, and various other things. The group had a great time. Then we got on the bus and drove north to Shefa’Amr. There we met an Arab-Israeli and his family. He showed us around, and told us about his experience living in Israel as a Muslim. With him, we visited the local mosque, and a synagogue. After a nice afternoon in Shefa-Amr, we headed towards Tiberias. We went to our hotel, had some time to rest, and then had Shabbat services. We sung songs, prayers, and played games. We went to dinner at the hotel. After, we had a discussion about our experience at Shefa-Amr as a group, and then went upstairs to sleep. Shabbat Shalom from Eddie and Daya!

Day 11 – Saturday, April 21st.

Hello from The Kinneret! Today we woke up late and went to a shabbat Tefillah service. We read from a Sephardic Torah. Then we went to the mineral pools near our hotel and had a lot of fun swimming there. Later we had lunch in the hotel and went back to the pools to do some fun activities. We played charades and ate ice cream. Then we had some free time at the hotel, and then had dinner. Then we had Havdalah and got our phones back! Then we got on the bus and went to a surprise destination. We got off and had some free time at a street by the beach, and we all got slushies. Then we got back on the bus and headed to the docks where we got on a party boat. We danced and sang to lots of Israeli music, songs from Beauty and The Beast, and even did the Chorus Line that we learned with Adolfo last year. Thankfully, nobody fell off the boat into the Kinneret.
