First Grade News

June 8th is Spirit Day! Students are invited to wear orange and white to school.

This week in First Grade we went on a field trip to the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens. We learned all about flowering plants and planted our own geraniums to take home!

In Social Studies, we made reusable bags out of old tshirts. First graders will use these bags at our Shuk next week.

In math we started exploring multiplication and division! They added groups of the same number to multiply, and practiced putting larger numbers into equal groups to divide.

We’re almost done with our book reviews. This week we used a checklist to review our reviews and make them the best they can be!

This week in Hebrew the first grade has been busy preparing for their shuk (the Israeli market) that we are going to have in school. They decided about what kind of fruits and vegetables they want sell and buy in our shuk and for how much money we are going to sell them for. We also decorated sighs with the names and prices of the fruits and vegetables that we are going to buy and sell in our shuk. We are looking forward to have our shuk next week!

Shabbat Shalom!
