Hello Families, It has been really wonderful to start meeting with parents and sharing all the growth we have observed in your children! In Hebrew, we learned the letter hey. We added new words to our word wall like; har (mountain), hadas (myrtle) and hegeh (steer wheel). We also practice writing so many words with the letters that we have learned so far like; atah (you), milah (word), ayalah (deer), he (she) and lavi (lion). Hello Families, In Hebrew, we learned the letters yod and lamed. We kept practicing our reading and writing with all the letters that we have learned so far. We added new words to our word wall like: yahm (ocean), lechem (bread), lashon (tongue) and lev (heart). We also read and write so many words like: mayim (water), bayit (house), kal (easy, light), ayal (deer) and balam (stopper). In Yahadut, we learned about the amidah prayer. Hello Families, In Hebrew, we learned the letter alef as well as a new vowel, which makes the “Ee” sound. We also went over all the letters that we have learned so far and realized how much we have learned in such a short amount of time! Then we practiced our reading and writing. Then we practiced our reading, and we were able to read and write lots of words with the letters that we have learned so far like; bat (a girl), bar (wild) and tar (searching). Hello Families, It was lovely seeing your (unmasked!) faces last night during our back to school night. In Hebrew we learned the letters mem and mem sofit and we were able to learn a lot of new words which we added to our word wall like; menorah (lamp), melech (king), mechonit (car), matanah (gift), magafayim (boots) and michnasayim (pants). Dear First Grade Families, Did you know, that collectively the first grade students have lost 95 teeth! Every time we loose a tooth we add it to our graph.  We have enjoyed comparing which class has lost more teeth. Dear First Grade Families. There was much excitement in first grade this week.  We had a celebration for Adar with pajama day and for the 100th day of school.  Students were full of joy! In Reading we continued our exploration of “Charlotte’s Web”.   A new character named Charlotte came into the story and the students were eager to hear that Wilbur had a new friend.  During word work, we continued our exploration of silent e.
