Judaic Studies

Is it ever okay to lie? How important is it to you that your friends tell the truth? When and in what situations are you most likely to tell a lie? 7th graders reflected personally on these questions, and then looked at them through the lens of a Talmudic discussion between the followers of Shammai and Hillel.

Shabbat shalom!

Humanities

Students read and studied the first 50 pages of Fahrenheit 451. I loved reading their reflections and interpretations. I also truly enjoyed having their grandparents and family members help us analyze parts of the book. It was great to connect with others over literature and share our interpretations.

In history, we went to the Carroll Gardens Library to take out books for our Renaissance research unit. it was important for students to visit the library, use a variety of tools to gather information, and take out books on their topic.
