19th Annual Kesher Family Connections Day (November 18, 2019)
On Monday, November 18th, grandparents and special friends spent the morning at Senesh for our 19th Annual Kesher Family Connections Day. Guests enjoyed a program featuring performances from our Kindergarten through 4th grade classes and heard from Head of School Nicole Nash who spoke about the 25-year journey of our school (click here to watch the video of Nicole’s moving speech). Grandparent David Lissy and parent and trustee Melissa Kushner also spoke about their Senesh experiences and guests visited classrooms to engage in activities with the children. Some of our visitors stayed for a special luncheon where they learned about our namesake, Hannah Senesh, and how she embodied the values we teach our children. It was a wonderful day and we thank all the grandparents and special friends who came from near and far to be with us.

The show has won numerous Israeli Academy Awards and was voted best international show of 2017 by The New York Times. The conversation featured Fauda director Rotem Shamir (11 episodes, 2017-2018) and cast members Doron Ben-David (Hertzel “Steve” Pinto), Yaakov Zada Daniel (Eli), Boaz Konforty (Avichay), and Rona-Lee Shimon (Nurit). The conversation was moderated by Abigail Pogrebin, a former Emmy-nominated producer for 60 Minutes, who is the author of My Jewish Year: 18 Holidays; One Wondering Jew, which was a finalist for a National Jewish Book Award.
