5th Grade Week of 9/4

Welcome back! We hope everyone has had a good summer, and we are so excited to start the new year! Please enjoy our first classroom updates below, and have a good holiday weekend!

HUMANITIES: Hello! My name is Tony Buonomo. I am coming back for my 2nd year as 5th Grade Humanities teacher. I am so excited to start another year at Senesh! I look forward to meeting our new 5th graders and introducing them to the wonderful worlds we will explore in Reading, Writing, and Social Studies. We will begin next week by getting to know each other, and then by starting our first reading and writing units. I hope everyone has had a good summer, and that you enjoy the last holiday before school begins!-Tony

MATH: Shalom and welcome to the incoming fifth grade class! I’m very excited to be teaching fifth (and sixth) grade math at this lovely school. It’s been a work and fun-packed two weeks getting ready for my classes, and I can’t wait to meet my new students. I intend to make math not only interesting, but also FUN, and can’t wait for my favorite day of the year: the first day of school.-Fred

SCIENCE: Hello everyone my name is Mike Noll and I am so excited for my second year here at Hannah Senesh. I hope to continue contributing to the community as your Middle School science teacher. I have been involved with middle school science for over a decade. I cannot wait to continue to demonstrate my passion for science with your child as we explore hands on projects and activities. I hope everyone had a great summer. I am looking forward with great anticipation to a fabulous year of hands on learning in science. If you have questions concerning our class or your child, please do not hesitate to contact me at mnoll@hannahsenesh.org-Mike

JUDAICS:

My name is Laura Marder. I will be your child’s Judaics and Tefillah teacher as well as a 5th grade adviser. I am so excited to get to know your children and learn together. We will be focusing on the Joseph stories, pre 1948 Israel history and values and text based holiday studies. I can’t wait to tell you more about it on back to school night. I am very passionate about Jewish text and mindfulness. We will be using big life questions to drive our learning such as; “How does our past affect our present” ” Do intentions matter” “How can I be responsible for myself and my community” and so many more! This year will also continue Aliza’s amazing work on skill building to become independent learners of text as well as good chevruta’s (learning partners).

Please feel free to always reach out with any questions or concerns.

Shabbat Shalom,
