5th Grade Week of 6/4
HUMANITIES:
What a week! We had our amazing China Museum, during which our students showed off the fruits of their hard work over the past two months. We are so proud of them! In addition, we began to wrap up our Book Club Unit, and continued to write our memoirs. Have a good weekend!-Tony
MATH:
5th graders will be taking their last unit test on Monday, June 11th. The last week of school will involve reviewing and correcting any second semester assignments that have yet been completed/corrected. All the corrections and assignments are due Wednesday, June 13th. -Kelly
JUDAICS:
This week we finished up our Joseph Story! It has been such an amazing journey through Bereshit learning about Joseph and his brothers and how they have changed, learned from experience and tried to rebuild trust. We will be doing a fun closing activity next week by looking at the story from a perspective of one of the characters in the story that we haven’t heard directly from. It is really amazing to see how far the 5th grade has come in their Chumash skills. They wrote beautiful Kushiyot (text based questions) on the end of our text that really showed how full of curiosity they are and how they are comfortable enough with the Hebrew text and grammar to ask such specific questions. I recommend asking your child what life lesson they have learned from the Joseph stories. They answered this question for me in a packet and I was blown away by their reflective answers.
Shabbat Shalom

SCIENCE:
This week we continued with our water rockets in order to make sure all of fifth grade had a chance to enjoy the experience. Students discovered the proper water to air pressure ratio in order to get the most altitude. Our final week of science we will conduct our last building project. Students will pretend to safely deliver a probe onto the surface of Mar. We will be using an egg to simulate this billion dollar probe. We cannot wait to end the science year strong and build these final memories!-Mike
HEBREW:
Students learned about his unique history and his passion for including many cultures in his music.
In addition, students had a reading comprehension on the Bio.-Yehuda
