HUMANITIES: Another great week in Humanities! We continued our study of Revolution is not a Dinner Party, and in history, students finished their AMAZING Ming Treasure Ship projects! Chag Sameach, and a wonderful break to all!-Tony

JUDAICS: I am so proud of the 5th grader’s music and text skills! All of your children signed off on the Passover Kiddush. They learned how to pronounce, understand and sing the full blessing. I encourage you to have them help lead this at your seder. We also had some great discussions about diverse learners and how to have empathy for others when you are better or worse in a subject. We studied the 4 Children text from the Torah and compared it to the slightly different text developed by the Rabbi’s in the the Midrash. We all created games on google classroom with 4 symbols depicted each of the personalities along with  questions and answers in the same style as the Midrash. Your child is coming home with the game if they finished the assignment on time. If not they have their almost finished product on google classroom that they can print at home to use at their seder! It has been a busy and really fun week! Here is the link I also emailed to use as a guide to discussing what your child learned this week in school for Passover.

MATH: Fifth graders are very close to finishing Unit 5 on perimeter, area and surface area! The test is however pushed to April 12th-13th due to school events. Have a wonderful Passover break!-Kelly

HEBREW: This year the fifth grade will be the stars in our schools Yom Ha’atzmaut ceremony. They will be putting on a short skit for the entire school. This week we started to talk about the ceremony and the theme behind the skit and started learning a song that they will be singing (אבניבי). In addition students had a  really fun passover  jeopardy activity with Yuval our Shinshinit. I will be sending students home with lyrics of the song so they can review it over break. Wishing you all a happy passover-Yehuda
