December 2, 2022 — Oh the Weather Outside’s Getting Frightful …

Math with Luis Fourth graders have been hard at work multiplying and dividing recently! Before thanksgiving, we had some fun writing, sharing, and solving our own word problems involving multiplication and division. We also had some fun thanksgiving-themed multiplication and division to really practice knowing when to divide and when to multiply. This week, we tackled factors, multiples, and prime & composite numbers, and had some very close Jeopardy games to wrap up the week.  Humanities with Hilary 4th Graders have been working SO HARD on their Publishing Party projects [IN PERSON on Wednesday, December 14 at 9am]. Kindergarten Blog 12/2

Dear Kindergarten Families, This week, Kindergartners welcomed a new student, Sari, to our Kindergarten class! We also began learning a new song, “When I First Came to This Land”, and the Foxes made their own Play-Doh (Penguins will make it next week). Looking at our notes, we found a way to make a paragraph that made sense, rather than just...

We continued to practice our speaking, reading and writing with all the letters and action words that we have learned so far. In Tefila, we learned a new prayer from the Amidah called harotze betshuva. We spoke about what or who reminds us to make good life choices. This week Parasha is Vayetze, which is about Jacob leaving his home to go to Haran, and on his way, he...

12/2/22

12/2/22 December is here! And second grade has been busy growing their brains. Check out what we’ve been up to… Reading: During phonics in reading, the second graders have been learning all about homophones! They figured out jokes like, What did the beach say when the tide came in? Long time no sea!  They also discovered other homophones such as to, two, too and where to use each in a sentence. Writing: The students have been busy learning about opinion writing, specifically with reviews of their favorite books that they read in school. We don’t want to divulge too much here,...
