February 5 2021 — Walking in a Winter Wonderland …

Hebrew Heritage with Tomer The beautiful snow and being at home allowed the 4th grade Heritage students reflect and explore winter. Third Grade 2/5

Social Studies The past few weeks we have reviewed what we have learned about the Hudson river, and now are learning more about who it is named for. We have been delving into the Age of Exploration, focusing in on Henry Hudson. Third graders have discussed the benefits and challenges of exploring during that time, the English and Dutch rivalry, and the effects European explorers had on the Native American tribes who were settled along the Hudson river. First Grade News

Hello Families, In Hebrew, this week we started learning about clothing. We talk about all the clothing that we are wearing during the winter, like: cova (hat), tzaeif (scarf), kefafot (gloves), meeil (coat), michnasayim (pants) and garbyim (socks). We learned the verbs lovesh (to wear, masculine) and loveshet (to wear, feminine) and Students spent time writing sentences about what they are wearing in the winter. In Parasha, we read the story of Parashat Yitro where the Israelites go to Mount Sinai and receive the Ten Commandments and We discussed the significance of each commandment. Kindergarten Blog 2/5/21

Dear Families, We are Super Readers!!  Kindergartners have been learning about and practicing the many powers they have, to help them become Super Readers. Ask your child if they can name and explain some of these powers. To celebrate the amazing progress they have all made in becoming Super Readers, on Thursday everyone was given a red cape, an eye mask, and a magic wand!
