Shinshinim and Small Moments

Writing After the Rosh Hashana break we were ready to get back to writing our small moment stories, some of us starting new stories about a special moment over the holiday weekend. We practiced zooming in on our small moments like we zoom in on objects using a magnifying glass. We used longer descriptive words and began adding dialogue and feelings to every page. First grade news

This week in first grade was full of learning about our environments.  Whether it was by practicing recycling or practicing routines!  We had a fun filled short week! In Reading this week, we received our book baggies and practiced picking a just right book.  We continued reading books about apples, by reading the book “Mr. Peabody’s Apples” by Madonna (yes that Madonna)  The students loved the illustrations in the book.  One of the main lessons of the book is the importance of telling the truth. Kindergarten Newsletter

  Hello Families, In our short week, we have accomplished so much! Both the yellow and blue group have focused on learning their own names by heart.  They are now using an uppercase letter followed by lowercase letters and even have taught their friends.  Kids are now acting as experts on their beginning letter in the room. During writing, friends coming to them to ask for advice!
