First Grade News

We had an exciting and productive first week of school! First graders have been thrilled to be with their old friends and to meet new ones. We had such a wonderful day on our apple picking field trip. The first graders picked more than enough apples for the whole school for Rosh Hashanah!   In the first week of school, we began our “kindness chain.” Each time a student in our class does something kind, they can add a link to our paper chain. 6th Grade News: 9/4-9/14/18

HUMANITIES The first few weeks in 6th grade Humanities have been short but busy! I have so enjoyed getting to know this insightful, energetic, and intellectual group of 6th graders. In ELA (English Language Arts), we’re spending these first few weeks focusing on our summer reading book, Bridge to Terabithia. We’ve used this novel as a lens through which to discuss important themes, like “friendship,” as well as literary terms that we’ll discuss throughout the year, such as direct and indirect characterization.
